For one dedicated senior Hollyn Zangaro. Running has always been a strong suit for Hollyn Zangaro. It’s also been a family tradition. Once she tired it out whenever she was younger she started to like the sport and she stuck to the sport ever since. Hollyn's goals are to continue placing top three and bring her times down each race until she can hit a consistent time in the 18’s. Hollyn’s plan on meeting these goals by upping her mileage each week for runs, pushing herself each workout and knocking down her pace on road runs.
Being flatfooted causes Hollyn's biggest problems in running. Because she’s flat footed, Hollyn's have overpronation in her ankles which gives her shin splints but luckily she has ways to help that and prevent it from affecting her physical health.
Hollyn would like to improve her aerobic running, her teammates can help her do that by making sure she’s keeping a consistent pace on her runs to build on that.
A time Hollyn and her team had to work as a team to achieve a goal was her sophomore year. Everyone had to run their best at districts so everyone could make it to state as a team.
Hollyn's future plans outside of graduating next spring are to commit to a college with a good scholarship, And to start saving up more money for the upcoming college year in the fall.
Hollyn is preparing for her goals by talking to her coaches to see what they are offering, looking at their programs, and keeping her job so she has money. For whatever she may need it for in the future as far as her plans go.
She will finish up her career with cross country in the fall and move into wrestling in the winter.
